Welcome to the Frankham Street and Amersham Vale Sites Regeneration Website

...the story so far

Deptford Town Centre and New Cross are changing. The developments at Frankham Street and Amersham Vale will make a significant contribution to the physical and social regeneration of these areas.

The regeneration of both these sites is being carried out by Family Mosaic Home Ownership and Mulalley and Co Limited. The intention is to transform the Amersham Vale and Frankham Street sites into a modern residential area whilst keeping the character and traditional feel of the surrounding areas.

In addition the part of the Amersham Vale site has been selected by the London Borough of Lewisham to be transformed into valuable open space. This will be complimented by the proposed high quality residential units, creating a vibrant and mixed community. The site is part of the “North Lewisham Links” redevelopment strategy to improve pedestrian and cycle connectivity and open spaces in the public realm.

The Frankham Street site forms part of the Deptford Town Centre Regeneration, and will provide new, high quality housing that compliments the regeneration projects already in hand. This will rejuvenate the existing streetscape whilst retaining the former Tidemill School building.

  Name your park

We are delighted to announce the results of the park naming vote.  Thanks to a fantastic response from local residents the park will be named Charlottenburg Park.

50% of those that voted chose Charlottenburg, with Amersham coming in second place. A breakdown of the results have been included below.

Lewisham was officially twinned with Charlottenburg, before it merged with Wilmersdorf, in 1968. Residents in both areas have been involved in numerous projects that have facilitated community groups to share ideas and experiences. This has included a football exchange in 2009/10 between Charlottenburg and Lewisham Borough Community Football Club, and the Hugo Distler Choir from Charlottenburg singing with the Blackheath Choir at Blackheath Halls in 2005.

Work on the park commences in February 2016 with completion expected summer 2016. We would like to thank all of the residents who participated in the naming.
